4 things I cut from my budget to save money

Becoming debt free is not going to be easy. There are some things you may have to sacrifice. I started to look at my monthly living expenses. Looking at my expenses, I started to think of ways I could save more money. Dave Ramsey says "sell so much the kids think there next". I didn't go that far, but I did cut somethings from my budget to save money.

So here are the four things I started to save money on

Cable

In today's society cable can be so expensive when all you need is the internet.  Everything is being streamed these days. So I ended my cable relationship with Comcast. Some alternatives to cable can be PlayStation Vue, Netflix, Hulu, or Crackle.  Look at some alternatives to see how you can still enjoy television but save some money.

Cell Phone Service

I changed my cell phone service from T-mobile to Metro PCS.  My bill alone at t-mobile not including my husband's bill was $91.  As of last year, we are both on the same plan at metro pcs.  We have two lines, and now we pay $70.  I don't know why we didn't change service providers sooner.  There are many discounted phone plans to choose from. Some discounted phone plans can be found at Walmart, boost mobile, and cricket.  For latest Metro PCS deals click here.

Nails

I love getting my nails done. Getting my nails done was always something I would do for myself. This habit really became expensive. When I would go to the nail shop, I had to get my nails, eyebrows and my feet done.  Now you can see how this would get expensive. Also, ladies know that gel polish can run an extra $15 on top of a full set.  I love the whole experience of the nail salon.  Yes, I could put my nails in the budget, but right now it's a sacrifice.  I started doing my nails myself and saving money every month. So until then, I will be wearing my KISS nail kit.

Eating Out

Cutting out eating made a huge difference in my budget. To be honest, I still struggle with this one at times. It's so hard to say no to people when they ask you to go out for food or drinks.  What works for my husband and me is that we have a date night budget.  Start by going out to eat twice a month or once a pay period. This way you are saving money, but you still feel like you are living your life.

I'm sure when you sit down and look at your budget there are somethings you can cut out to save money.
