Things I am thankful for

November 22, 2017

Thanksgiving is around the corner and we all have something to be thankful for.  When you're having a bad day or you lose sight of your destiny sit down and think of the things you are thankful for. I have bad days like everyone else, so I make sure to sit down and refocus on the things important in life.

Things I am thankful for......

Family

I am so thankful for my family. Sometimes family members start living their own lives and lose track of each other.  This year my family dedicated once a month to each other where we would get together and spend time with each other. This gives us the time to catch up with each other and enjoy one another.

My husband and my son

I am thankful for my husband. Life is not promised and while I’m on this earth, I have a partner to spend it with. My son is about to be one years old, and this has been the easiest hardest job I have ever done.  I am so blessed to have our little family and wouldn’t change it for the world.

My Health

I am thankful for my health. As far as I know, I am a healthy 30-year-old African American female.

My Mental Health

Yes, my mental health, you know the old folks used to say thank you lord for my mind, body, and soul. My mind, yes, I am thankful for a healthy mind.

My Job

Man, my job pisses me off sometimes, but I am thankful for my job. Without my job, I couldn’t enjoy some of the things I love.

Friends

I love that I have people in my life to keep me motivated and on track.

Stable Transportation

With winter coming transportation is so important. I am thankful I have a car to get me from point A to point B.

Stable housing

Along with transportation I have a home to go home to.  I have a place to call home, a bed to sleep in, and a stove to cook on. It’s funny how we can lose sight of the little things that make our lives better every day.

Take the time to sit down and think about what you are thankful for.  Pastor Keith Norman stated to his church on Sunday “be grateful before the plate”.  Like he says you’ll catch it on the way home!

Be Blessed!
