Tips on engaging in football season! “If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em”
Ladies, it’s that time again, football season. If you have a spouse like mine that loves sports, then you know how important this time of year is. Your T.V is on every game and on every sports channel. Ladies there comes a time when you have to join in on the fun even when you don’t want to. Some women do want to get more involved but don’t know where to start.
Here are a few tips!
1. Go for the same team as your significant other
Easy, right? If you have a favorite team AWESOME, it’s always fun to have a house divided. If you don’t have a favorite team go with the same team as your significant other. GO STEELERS LOL!
2. Know at least the star players on the team
This is easy; google can help you with this one.
3). Know your team rivals
Note to self, if your significant other hates the Cowboys, you hate the Cowboys. It’s like an unwritten rule, trust me it matters.
4). Know some sports channels
Try to get into some sports channels. When you start watching football, you start to get into who has been traded or what head coach got fired. Some shows you can watch weekly are: First Take, Skip and Shannon, or Mike & Mike. On game days you can tune into NFL Countdown or some other pregame show. ( I love me some Randy Moss!) Staying up on the latest sports news will help you engage in conversation.
5) Watch the game together
The best way to know what’s going on, is to watch the game with your significant other. Even if you start to get bored, being present is key!
6) Football snacks
If everything else fails, you can always show your support by making football snacks. Pinterest has plenty of football snack ideas.
I know some women can care less about sports but you will be surprised how involved you will become!
